{"id":215,"date":"2023-03-21T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dejal.com\/blog\/?p=215"},"modified":"2023-03-06T12:55:27","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T20:55:27","slug":"simon-tip-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dejal.com\/blog\/simon-tip-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Simon tip: groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p><\/p>\n<p>One feature request that I received many times for <a href=\"https:\/\/dejal.com\/simon\/\">Simon<\/a> was the ability to organize tests into folders or groups \u2014 especially useful for people with lots of tests, or simply want to collect all tests relating to a particular server or client together.<\/p>\n<p>Tests can be grouped together however you wish. It\u2019s easy to create a group: simply choose the <strong>New Group<\/strong> command in the <strong>File<\/strong> menu or the + pop-up menu, then drag the tests into the new group. Even easier, you can just select some tests and choose the <strong>New Group with Selection<\/strong> command to make a group and move those tests into it in one step.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"New menu\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dejal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/new.png?resize=373%2C180&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"New menu\" width=\"373\" height=\"180\" border=\"0\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>Groups appear with disclosure triangles, enabling them to be collapsed. The group row shows a summary of the contents, with any common values displayed for easy reference. And similarly, the info pane shows a summary of the contained tests.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Tests\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dejal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/tests.png?resize=742%2C618&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Tests\" width=\"742\" height=\"618\" border=\"0\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>Groups can even be nested, if desired \u2014 you can have an unlimited number of groups within other groups, if that helps organize them.<\/p>\n<p>But wait, there\u2019s more!
