If no break appears when you manually start one, or as scheduled, there are a few possibilities.<\/p>\n

  1. Firstly, look in the sidebar; it should indicate why a break didn\u2019t occur.<\/li>\n
  2. You should restart your Mac. That often fixes wackiness.<\/li>\n
  3. If that doesn\u2019t help, make sure you don\u2019t have more than one copy of Time Out.<\/li>\n
  4. If still no luck, there may be a permissions issue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To fix a permissions issue, try this:<\/p>\n

    Make sure Time Out<\/strong> is in your Applications<\/strong> folder.<\/p>\n

    Paste the following command into Terminal<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    xattr -d -r -s com.apple.quarantine \/Applications\/Time\\ Out.app<\/code><\/p>\n

    If this gives a permissions error (e.g. \u201cxattr: [Errno 13] Permission denied\u201d), try it again with sudo before the command, to elevate the privileges. You\u2019ll need to enter your Administrator password. This command is safe to use with sudo:<\/p>\n
