New/Edit Report Window

The New Report and Edit Report windows. This window is typically accessed via the Reports window when the File > New Report... or File > Edit Report... menu commands or the corresponding toolbar buttons are chosen.

This window is divided into five sections. Below is a brief description of each; click on the section name or "tell me more" link for more information about each:

Name: The top section only includes a field where you can name this report. Enter any name that has meaning for you; it is used for display only. It appears both in the Reports window and on the Summary page of the generated report (if the {title} variable is used).

Report Options: This and the following sections can be hidden or shown by clicking on the disclosure triangle. This section lets you specify how often this report should be output, what pages to generate, what template to use, etc. [Tell me more....]

Report Kind: Choose the report plug-in from this pop-up menu. Simon uses plug-ins to do the actual output, allowing greater flexibility and expandability. When you choose a report kind from this menu, the fields below change accordingly. [Tell me more....]

Automatically Pause Report: This feature allows you to suspend this report on specified days (or any day) and times. Useful to avoid outputting reports when you know nobody will view them. [Tell me more....]
