Continuous stream of errors logged to system.log

The system.log is being filled with these messages. It doesn't stop.

Mar 11 14:18:41 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.dejal.timeout.launcher[39259]): Could not find and/or execute program specified by service: 155: Refusing to execute/trust quarantined program/file: com.dejal.timeout.launcher

I already reinstalled from the Web site to no avail.

The following command did not help:
xattr -d -r -s com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Time\ Out.app

Then I tried the same on ˜/Library/Application Scripts/com.dejal.timeout.launcher

This did not help either.

The following message might be an unrelated Sierra bug?

Mar 11 14:18:41 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.dejal.timeout.launcher): Service only ran for 0 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds.

(The post at http://dejal.com/forums/2016/01/26/time-out-not-showing-overlay did not help to resolve this, just to be clear, and the overlay is showing)

Hope you can help.

Re: Continuous stream of errors logged to system.log

I would have suggested that Terminal command, so I'm glad you tried it.

Is Time Out in your Applications folder?

The Application Scripts folder isn't used, and isn't an app.

You could try:

xattr -d -r -s com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Time\ Out.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems/Time\ Out\ Launcher.app

I'm not sure what else to try. I have seen this kind of logging on occasion, but it usually clears up on its own; I'm not sure why.

Re: Continuous stream of errors logged to system.log

Thank you for your reply, David.
The command unfortunately did not resolve the issue.

Finally I removed the service with 'launchctl remove com.dejal.timeout.launcher' which stopped the errors in the system.log file.

This is what launchctl could tell me before:

$ launchctl list com.dejal.timeout.launcher
{
"EnableTransactions" = true;
"LimitLoadToSessionType" = "Aqua";
"MachServices" = {
"com.dejal.timeout.launcher" = mach-port-object;
};
"Label" = "com.dejal.timeout.launcher";
"TimeOut" = 30;
"OnDemand" = true;
"LastExitStatus" = 19968;
"Program" = "com.dejal.timeout.launcher";
};

TimeOut still works, so perhaps this was a leftover from a previous version?

Re: Continuous stream of errors logged to system.log

The launcher is a "login item" helper, that runs when the option to automatically start Time Out is turned on. So yes, I could imagine that it could remain running from a previous version when the app is updated, and thus get orphaned. I'll make a note to investigate that possibility; maybe I can force it to stop when updating the app.
